Concordia Servizi Ambientali at the CREA and ASSOVERDE Conference: “Peat, alternatives? Potting mixes and substrates”

Rome, December 9, 2025 – Concordia Servizi Ambientali S.r.l., a company based in Giulianova (TE), participated in the conference organized by CREA (Council for Agricultural Research and Economics Analysis) in collaboration with ASSOVERDE, entitled “Peat, alternatives? Potting mixes and substrates”, held at the Corrado Nigro Historical Library in Rome.

The event, promoted by the national research body supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry (MASAF), represented an important opportunity for discussion on the topic of environmental sustainability and the evolution of materials used for the production of natural potting mixes and substrates.

Peat and its alternatives: a challenge for the future of greenery

During the conference, experts, researchers, and entrepreneurs in the sector analyzed the ecological function of Peat and the ecosystem services provided by peatlands: carbon storage, hydrological regulation, biodiversity conservation, and soil quality improvement.
The environmental implications related to Peat extraction, the regulatory limits, and the future prospects for identifying sustainable alternative materials were also discussed.
